The City of Aleppo differentiated from the other cities of Syria in terms of handicrafts. Jewellery and gold treatment are also amongst the oldest handicrafts of Syria. During the excavation in Bab Al-Faraj many gold, silver and jewels dated back more than twenty centuries had found. The museums of Syria are ornamented with thousand pieces of historical gold, silver and jewels. Craftsman of gold and silver in Aleppo has such a fame that even the latest technology can not compete.
Aleppo also contains the world's most skilful craftsmen of tray, glass and tableware.
Aleppo is also famous for it's “gar soap†which is like a big cube. The eldest regarded he gar soap as the best of the world.
In addition to all these Aleppo has many exaples of wood, glass, leather, steel, copper, ceramic, porcelain and mosaic arts. |

Aleppo became a haunting place for the merchants due to it's critical positions and many of these merchants moved to city became familiar with different catering styles and customs of different human societies.
